Is your social media also filled with posts about DeepSeek, ChatGPT, and Gemini, or is it just me? Just a few days ago, I had no idea what DeepSeek was, and now here I am writing a blog about it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was very curious to know what\u2019s going on all of a sudden. I read about it and thought I\u2019d share what this DeepSeek vs ChatGPT thing is all about.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The evolution of artificial intelligence began back in 1950 when Alan Turing published his paper, ‘<\/span>Computing Machinery and Intelligence.<\/span><\/i>‘ This paper proposed the Turing Test to determine whether machines could think.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Many developments in AI since then have advanced this journey to the level of deep learning. And here we are, with the AI market projected to reach <\/span>243.72 billion USD<\/span><\/b> this year (Source: Statista).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ChatGPT was launched on <\/span>November 30, 2022<\/span><\/b>. Many credit ChatGPT with starting the AI boom. I also believe the same. Before ChatGPT, only a few people in the industry had knowledge of AI. ChatGPT showed the world what AI is capable of. And nowadays, AI language models like ChatGPT and Gemini are helping many of us with our tasks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

DeepSeek was born the year after ChatGPT\u2019s launch, with its first series model release on <\/span>November 2, 2023<\/span><\/b>. To be precise, 337 days after ChatGPT’s debut.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On 24<\/span>th<\/span> of January 2025, <\/span>DeepSeek-R1<\/span><\/b> was released. This AI language model can solve science problems better than OpenAI\u2019s best model, <\/span>GPT-4<\/span><\/b>. They also released another model called <\/span>Janus-Pro-7B <\/span><\/b>fully capable of generating images from text.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That is the reason behind the spark of the debate \u201c<\/span>DeepSeek vs ChatGPT<\/span>\u201d that is happening from corporate offices to college students.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        What I think is if it\u2019s trained on niche datasets, it might exhibit biases specific to that domain. This is not a new thing in the case of AI language models.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        However, DeepSeek can have better control over bias if it uses advanced filtering or domain-specific training. But as of now, our findings are as follows:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Above, I mentioned that DeepSeek AI model efficiency in reasoning is greater than ChatGPT. But is this actually true, or is DeepSeek just making this claim? Is there any evidence to support it?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          You remember I earlier pasted the response of ChatGPT on DeepSeek capabilities. Go read that again. It said that <\/span>DeepSeek might be better for handling massive data, math, code, and reasoning tasks<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          It is the <\/span>DeepSeek-R1<\/span><\/b> model that has made all of this possible and has surpassed OpenAI.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
