Since the data to be analyzed was huge in volume, variety, variability, and velocity, we decided to make use of Big Data coupled with micro-service architecture as the core approach to creating a solution. Other technologies we used include Java, AngualrJS, NodeJS, REST web services, Redis Cache, MySQL and Hadoop Clusters.
The main challenge of this project was about the collection of data from various social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, LinkedIn, blogs, forums, and more and doing real-time sentiment analysis of the massive data for creating actionable insights.
The platform we developed provided accurate statistics and real-time sentiment analysis, thus serving as a powerful tool to define a robust social media marketing strategy for the business. The results that came across were impressive.
