A live streaming app to amplify customer experience and brand outreach for a leading client in the entertainment industry
The client is a renowned player in the entertainment industry and offers an array of video streaming solutions to broadcasters, network carriers, and content owners. Not having support on major devices was leading to a considerable impact on the TV viewing figures, and consequently on their advertisement and subscription revenues. They required a Smart TV app that was capable of being supported across multiple devices and territories. The objective of the app we suggested was to ensure that the brand was available to the viewers on every platform and also delivered an exceptional viewing experience on television..
With viewers prioritizing mobile apps to watch videos, the real challenge was to bring them to Smart TV platform, which was possible only by providing engaging experiences. To expand the user base and push the revenue growth for their business, the customer needed a multiscreen app which allowed watching online streams across a range of smart TVs. Since they had a detailed story map and UI design for multiple user personas, implementing them was a real challenge. Additionally, reaching the viewers without cable and satellite subscriptions was another expectation that the client had.
Team OrangeMantra kicked off the project with discovery workshops with the customer experience team of the brand. Group meetings with the stakeholders were also conducted with the objective to get a holistic overview of the challenges, requirements, and expectations they had from the project. Based on this information, we came up with the idea of a Smart TV app that packs features such as Live TV and video on demand/streaming on demand services and supports interactive programming guide.
